The first stage of your fertility journey is to check that you meet the age requirement, Body Mass Index (BMI), and Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) levels to determine how many eggs you have, also known as your ovarian reserve. These checks, along with your age, are known as our eligibility criteria. The best way to determine BMI and AMH is by a fertility assessment, which you can have on your own or with your partner.
A fertility assessment involves a series of tests and scans for you or you and your partner to determine your fertility health. It includes an AMH blood test and BMI check, as standard.
Understanding our Eligibility Criteria
At Essential Fertility, we provide affordable IVF, ICSI and egg freezing. To be considered for treatment, we ask that patients meet our eligibility criteria mentioned above, which have been put in place to make sure patients have the best chance of success. In addition, meeting our criteria means a lower dose of fertility medication is prescribed. Finally, although more affordable, we still want patients to have the best possible care, that’s why our nurse-led service is supported by experienced anaesthetists and experienced fertility doctors.

Once you have undergone your fertility tests, one of our experienced senior fertility nurses will invite you for a consultation. During this session, they will review all prior medical records, the results of any previous fertility treatment, and the results of your fertility assessment. If all is well, the nurse will give their approval for your treatment discuss the next stages.
