Samantha Bagshaw

Meet Samantha Bagshaw

Samantha has over 20 years of nursing experience, including an initial three-year rotational post in gynaecology, where she gained comprehensive experience across the early pregnancy unit, minor and major gynaecology wards, theatres, and IVF services. 

In 2014–2015, Samantha completed specialist training in fertility ultrasound scanning at the University of Liverpool. Since then, she has been actively involved in scanning patients throughout their IVF journey, supporting clinical decision-making and patient care decisions.

Samatha’s role involves coordinating and planning treatment cycles for patients at the start of their fertility journey, and providing ongoing support by addressing questions and managing any concerns that arise during treatment. She performs ultrasound scans to monitor ovarian response and assess readiness for procedures such as egg collection and embryo transfer. Additionally, she contributes to the wider team by conducting patient consultations, taking detailed medical histories, and guiding individuals and couples through what to expect during IVF treatment.

Samantha also has a particular passion for fertility preservation, supporting patients who are not yet ready to start a family by offering egg freezing. She finds it inspiring to be part of a field where advances in science empower individuals to take control of their reproductive health and future.
