About Lydia Ruddick
With qualifications in Genetics and Assisted Reproduction Technology, Lydia trained as a Clinical Embryologist in Birmingham.
With research experience in early embryo development at the French National Research Institute and clinical practice observation in Australia, Lydia is one of our Senior Embryologists. She brings her wide-ranging expertise to Essential Fertility to help give you the best chance of a baby.
Impressively, Lydia is one of two reproductive scientists in the country that started the Higher Scientific Training Programme (HSST) in 2023. This is a funded five year training programme that includes a Healthcare Leadership and Management diploma from the University of Manchester, a large research project for a Doctorate in Clinical Science and consultant level exams at the Royal College of Pathologists. Other accomplishments include a prize for a research presentation at a national conference – highlighting the success of our fresh and frozen donor eggs for patients whose partners have high sperm DNA fragmentation.
